National direct cremation providers compared
The national direct-cremation services, cheapest first, with the all-in published price each one gives for an unattended cremation — funeral director’s charges plus the cremation fee. Every figure links to the document it was read from.
| Provider | Direct cremation | Basis | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Distinct Cremations | from £1,350 | Advertised from-price | Distinct Cremations direct cremation page (advertised price), captured 2026-07-26 |
| Simplicity Cremations | £1,399 | Standardised Price List | Simplicity Cremations CMA Standardised Price List, captured 2026-07-26 |
| Pure Cremation | £1,595 | Standardised Price List | Pure Cremation CMA Standardised Price List (April 2026), captured 2026-07-26 |
An advertised from-price is a floor, not a fixed price, so the amount actually paid may be higher. Prices read from a CMA Standardised Price List are the figures the provider is legally required to publish.

What to compare between funeral directors
Because the Competition and Markets Authority requires every UK funeral director to publish prices in the same Standardised Price List format, the figures are comparable line-for-line. When you compare funeral prices, four published fields matter most:
- Direct cremation total. The all-in price of an unattended cremation with no service — the simplest like-for-like number.
- Attended funeral director’s charge. The funeral director’s own charges for an attended cremation or burial funeral, excluding third-party fees.
- Professional fee. What the provider charges for arrangements, administration and professional services.
- Disbursements listed separately. Cremation and burial fees are third-party costs shown apart from the funeral director’s charges, so the provider’s own pricing can be compared cleanly.
