UK Funeral Cost Index — quarterly data releases
Each quarter we publish a standardised snapshot of UK funeral pricing drawn from the CMA Standardised Price Lists captured by Funeral Cost Index. Reports include national and regional medians, chain-vs-independent comparison, and the largest price movements observed in the quarter.

Methodology
All prices are sourced from each funeral director’s own CMA Standardised Price List, the format mandated by the Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021. Prices are normalised against the standardised line items, deduplicated to the latest captured snapshot per provider, and aggregated using true medians (50th percentile) rather than means. Where a provider has multiple branches, each branch is included as a separate observation.
