Funeral directors are required to publish Standardised Price Lists, but the information is still scattered across individual websites. Funeral Cost Index gathers those published prices, standardises them, and creates free local comparison pages so families can see what is available in their area.
Funeral Cost Index helps families see published funeral prices in one place.
We do not rate funeral directors, assess service quality, or recommend one provider over another. Funeral care is personal, and price is only one part of the decision.
Our role is to make published price information easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to check.

Following the Competition and Markets Authority’s Funerals Market Investigation, every UK funeral director is legally required to publish a Standardised Price List in a fixed format. Two figures sit at the top: the all-in cost of a direct cremation, and the funeral director’s charges for an attended funeral.
Families should not have to search dozens of funeral director websites at a difficult time. We capture these lists from each provider’s website, normalise them, and present them by postcode, by city, and by service. No commercial relationships with funeral directors. No hidden incentives. Just the published numbers, current and comparable.
